Suicide remains a critical public health concern in the Chicagoland area, reflecting broader national trends. According to recent data, suicide rates have returned to peak levels seen in previous years, with men, older adults, and certain racial and ethnic groups disproportionately affected

. In Chicago, socioeconomic disparities—such as the inability to afford emergency expenses—are strongly linked to increased psychological distress and unmet mental health needs

. These challenges underscore the urgent need for accessible, culturally responsive mental health resources and community-based prevention efforts across the region. For help call or text 988

Movement

In May 2025, we partnered with a diverse group of community-based professionals to support our stakeholders in caring for their mental health. Among them was Kelly Amshoff, who brought energy and inspiration through her engaging movement sessions. Her “Movement Monday” offerings encouraged physical activity as a pathway to wellness and connection.
