Learning2Live™

Our cornerstone program is the Learning2Live™ (L2L) program. It offers a 10 week curriculum that is designed to educate teachers, counselors, school staff, parents and students about 13 mental health disorders common in adolescents including suicide, depression, self-mutilation, anxiety and eating disorders.

The basis of our L2L™ (Learning2Live™) program is to provide knowledge and awareness of mental illness, to educate about prevention and intervention, to offer access to information and provide referrals when requested.  We find that people will talk about physical illness in themselves and others, but when it comes to mental disorders such as emotional issues, depression, anorexia, bipolar or other disorders, they fall silent. Through our education we transform youth into knowledgeable mental health advocates focusing on academic and life success.

The L2L™ program has been educating students, parents and teachers for more than a decade.

L2L™ is an effective program that tackles both educating about mental illness issues and decreasing the stigma surrounding it. This educational program has been developed to serve as a model in school settings and can also be utilized by corporations, community groups and mental health organizations. It is a research-based tested curriculum for teaching children, adolescents and parents about mental health.

    L2L™ can assist students with:
  • Stress Management
  • Depression
  • Suicide Prevention
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Substance use Prevention
  • Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and Panic Disorder
  • Self-Injurious Behavior

Continuing Education for Education Professionals & Parenting Sessions

As part of our efforts to reduce suicide and increase emotional wellbeing in our school-aged children, we offer continuing education classes for our teachers. These classes are designed to help teachers identify and understand different learning modalities and create supportive environments conducive to learning.

As children transition from childhood to adulthood, they undergo many physical, emotional and behavioral changes. We provide parenting sessions in our schools that address specific questions and concerns, examine troublesome problems, and help parents understand and respond to the day-to-day challenges during the teen years.

Session topics include:

  • The Three Keys to Successful Listening
  • Becoming a Better Communicator
  • Stress Management
  • Using Discipline Effectively
  • Engaging Cooperation
  • Appropriate Expressions of Feelings (i.e. anger, remorse)
  • Developing Courage
  • Placating Complaints
  • Building Trust and Honesty
  • Setting Healthy Boundaries
  • What to Do About Bullying
