MHAGC founded in 1957
There are an average of over 5,400 suicide attempts by young adults daily.
More than 1 in every 5 young people is dealing with a mental illness. Help make a difference by being the one to help!
Your donations will go a long way in saving lives and addressing issues attributed to mental health.
According to the World Health Organization, mental disorders rank as the biggest health problem in North America, ahead of both cardiovascular disease and cancer.
Mental Health is the highest unmet need in the US.
Mental health services are lacking despite certain changes in the law and parity with physical health is still being sought. Help us to create awareness by supporting our organization and programming so we may make mental health a priority in our schools, home and communities. We provide information, knowledge and skills needed to recognize mental health issues and the tools needed to live mentally healthier lives.
Isn't it time that mental health education becomes as important as physical health education in or schools?
Our students, parents and teachers are asking for it!
Your support will help us to:
- Maintain and update our database of service providers
- Offer individuals confidential referrals to service providers near them
- Implement our L2L programming in schools throughout the Chicagoland area
- Offer Teacher Education to help give our educators the tools they need to create mentally healthy learning environments
